Stallholder Feature #6 Annie Rose Vintage

What can people expect from your stall?

Annie Rose Vintage has been born as a result of my personal love for uncovering & collecting unique, quirky vintage pieces that have a story to tell rather than the same old generic, on trend products that are churned out of the high street so you can expect to find an eclectic mix of vintage & retro homewares, collectibles, textiles, up cycled vintage pieces and handmade crafts.

For me teacups are not just for holding tea in – I turn mine into candle holders, vases & even use them to serve dessert or cocktails in! Fill them to the brim with sweeties or chocolates and they turn into a great, unusual and personal gifts.

Odd plates & saucers become soap dishes or a home for pretty trinkets and cake stands look great when draped with necklaces in the centre of your dressing table…The possibilities with pretty pieces of china are endless!

What has been your favourite vintage find?

Oooh tough question! I have so many I wouldn’t know where to start! I have a new one each week!

What attracted you to take part in Swop n Shop?

I think that in the current economic climate we have gone slightly away from a throwaway society feel of the late 90s / early 00s and a lot of people are turning back to the old adage of ‘Make do and Mend’

This is what I do with a lot of my wares and with Swop n Shop its great to promote the idea of swapping, recycling and giving a new lease of life to clothes as well. After all, one mans junk is always another mans treasure!

We caught up with Jayne who has a studio at Banks Mill, she specialises in bags which are made from recycled clothes but also creates other products from recycled materials.

What can people expect from your stall?

My stall will have products that are made from recycled materials such as jumpers, scarves, trousers and shirts. Not only do i make bags, and these can be anything from small party bags to everyday bags, laptop bags and P.E and laundry bags. I have made bunting and banners(happy birthday, merry christmas, congratulations and new baby) and also do small commissions. All my products are priced to try to fit in with everyone’s budget and i can do this because its all recycled!

What are you most looking forward to about Swop n Shop?

I love picking up a bargain and cant wait to bring along some clothes and have a good rummage to pick up something new to wear 🙂

What attracted you to take part in Swop n Shop?

Any thing to do with a worthy cause is something I would always try to support and the fact that it is quite a ‘green’ and ‘eco-friendly’ idea is always a must for me. Its so nice to see our unwanted clothes being used in such a good way and for such a excellent cause.
